The Balti Triangle appeared at this year’s BBC Summer Good Food Show and took the place by storm. The show enticed visitors through the doors of The NEC with tempting aromas from the very best summer food for five days from 10-14 June and featured live demonstrations from top chefs along with an impressive selection of some of the country’s top food and drink producers.

The exhibition was co-ordinated in partnership with Birmingham City Council’s Development Planning & Regeneration Service as well as businesses in the Balti Triangle.

Members of the public who visited the Balti Triangle stand were able to taste mouth watering samples of local cuisine and also received a free copy of the newly launched ‘Essential Guide to the Balti Triangle’. There was always a steady stream of visitors eagerly awaiting a taste of ‘Balti’ supplied by local restaurants including Imrans, Lahore Karahi Chinese and Cinnamon Red.

The Balti Triangle is not only about the restaurants; the area is home to a wealth of specialist food shops, jewellers and clothing stores. This was proved by the fabulous displays of jewellery and clothing on show from Jewel of Birmingham and Khoobsarat.

There was also a chance to win a meal for 4 at a local restaurant and the competition proved a big hit with over 1000 entries.
